Going For It

I've passed my BS&H (basic skills and handling) course, next step is to book my theory test. You know, even after 20 odd years of driving, I was still really nervous to sit the test.

You think you are up to date with all the road rules, but there is still doubt and a little bit of, did I get that right?? I had studied the road code and used the practise tests you can use to learn with, but the nerves were still kicking in. I think just the fact I was being tested, not so much the test itself.

Whoop whoop! Fist Pump Moment!! I've passed the test! Time to start SHOPPING for my bike. I had put my feelers out to friends seeking advise on what to buy and what would be the best bike to start off with, and pretty much everyone was saying the same thing, and as my BS&H instructor had also encouraged, go with the Suzuki GN250 Rach it's a great little bike to start off with and very forgiving while you are learning.

SO Trade Me - Look out, here I come!!!

I had done my homework, (with some help) and finally chose and bought my bike.

She was a 2007 Suzuki GN250, she only had 8,000km on the clock and was in mint condition. The previous owner, a woman who had also learnt to ride on her, had now upgraded to a Harley - One day!! I will own one, ONE DAY!!

The day has come, she is going the be here when I get home from work tonight, its daylight saving so I'll have extra hours of daylight after work to get out on her. I am so excited.

She has been delivered, I'm so so excited!

Having been a pillion for so many years I had already invested in SOME good riding gear as well as being the proud owner of some pre loved hand me down's. I had a pair of Mack steal cap old work boots I used to wear to mow the lawns in, Dragon Jeans, Revit was the brand of my jacket, and my helmet? I did splash out and buy myself a new one rather than continuing with the hand me down one I had managed with for years. I bought an HJC, although not top of the line, it was fitted to me and was within my budget, and not forgetting the gloves! gotta have those puppies!

Now to get out on her!!
